hello everyone!

My name is Michelle, i am a veterinary nurse, i have always loved all animals, especially tortoises, and im very excited to have got my first tortoise yesterday!

(from someone who no longer had time). she (i think she is a girl!) is a horsefield tortoise.

as well as my new edition i have a dog, cat, 2 hamsters, ferret, tropical fish, 7 guinea pigs, and 13 budgies which live outside in an aviary.

welcome to the forum,i also have a horsefield tort six years of age and he has a wonderful character,how old is your tort?

hey guys! thanks for the warm welcome!

jayne- im not sure! maybe someone can help! i was told a year, but think she is too big for this. the shell is 4.5'' long and she weighs nearly 300g. any ideas? also what are the signs if they have grown too quick. before i got her she was fed on lettuce and bannana.

Welcome to the forum Michelle

If you post carapace and plastron pictures in the sex/ID section we can give a go at sexing him/her and giving you an idea of age.
