A very awkward question

This is just a bit of an awkward question but i was just wandering do tortoises go through puberty when they are almost moody or sleepy etc if so when will this take place?

I'm not sure how old Joe was when the hormones got going. He's not moody, just sex obsessed when it's warm... Still
