What next?
I've made my outdoor enclosure. I lined it with weed suppressant fabric as told to by a forum member (sorry can't remember who you are but thanks) but what do you do with the excess fabric around the edges? If I cut it off I worry the tort will get behind it and dig out. Should I but something on it to stop this?

you could use some bricks, and then put ya top soil on, i have some under my run and all i did was put my run over the top and then top soil, so i would say make a brick wall as high as your doing ya top soil, cause i wake it u have made the outside wall already

Yes, we had a small log border around the garden so I dug out loads of soil, about a foot and a half. I then put Bamboo fencing all around, inside the log border and fixed it to the logs and then put the fabric inside and filled it back up with soil. I have all the excess fabric around the edges. I have put rocks around, on top of the fabric as far as I can but I am running out of rocks.
I'll post some pictures soon. |

Not sure though why you would want to suppress weeds

It's not to supress the weeds, it's to stop the tort digging his way out.

It might work I think wire would work better though for that purpose.

I've posted some pics. It was 16 shells who told me about the weed fabric. It's my first attempt so when I revise it I will use chicken wire.

Just had a look at the pics, looks good so far. I would be inclined to cut some of the lower branches off the bush thats against the fence just to open it up a bit and then add a few more tort friendly plants.
In regards to the weed fabric, I'd watch that as I've know torts dig straight through it. If you have a Horsfield then you have no hope of containing it with the fabric.
