Smile lining my tortoise table

Brian is currently living ina wooden tortoise table. I have soil in it but was wondering if i should line the table to avoid damage to the wood. Also is there anything I shouldn't use?

lots of people will suggest pond liner which is great, but if like me you want to save a bit of money, I lined my tortoise table with empty top soil bags, cut them so they lie flat and give them a wash, saves throwing them away

Yup, I'd agree with the others....pond liner or heavy duty black plastic bags.

Hi, another useful thing to use are gravel trays from the garden centre (they also sell the trays cheaper in Poundstretcher). I used these and found they were useful to swap trays with new weeds / stones in, and they hold the water well.

Great idea Pat, this is what I also use, we built our Tortoise table ourself and made it just the right size to fit seed trays (strong ones without holes!), It's a great idea because I then just swop them over every so often for another
