It's defo not dead nettle......it is throwing off tendrils that indicates a 'climbing' plant. I still think hop!! X x x xhugs x x perhaps when it flowers the mystery will be solved. X. Just a thought Marie.....what is the purple amongst the leaves.

good guess ! My white nettle stands upright though , and I have purple headed nettle which looks like white and they stand upright taller though so not non stinging white nettle. I reckon its some logan berry or fruit plant like Emma suggested. but then again it appears ground cover.. What soil is it in? I don't think ive ever seen it but I live in a clay area. CB

Its growing out the side of the tortoise enclosure. The have ground gravel and then normal out door soil.
Its an odd one as its been their all summer and hasn't done much. I'm desperate to find out what it is...

You could try posting a picture on the tortoise table website - the ladies on there are generally very good at identifying plants

oooh I thought I had it then. I just picked some columbine and at the bottom were some odd shaped heart leaves with ridges in that were part of the bindweed plant but all the upper ones were very smooth.... so don't think so, however !! the flower heads looked the same.

no word of a lie I am sure they have just been on gardeners world BBC 2 - Emma is right I reckon some kind of fruit and they had blackberrys. Didn't hear what she said but she was a lovely old lady full of life's experience!

It looks a bit like a wild strawberry with the runners but the leaves are singular and not in threes.
