Night Time Nest Box
Well my usual routine of reviewing images from nest box cam this morning over my cuppa and look
Gutted to say the least although the Tits are still in and out this morning. I'll have to get the other half to think of a cage thing to put round it...... This may happen every year but now we have the camera thing we're only seeing it for the first time...... Click on the pics - they're videos but only last 1 second but you'll see... If any of you have any idea's of how to protect the nest box let me know, thank you

I would get some small spiky twigs (prettier than barbed wire!) and staple to the top, if the cat is coming at it from above he wont put his paws on them

Grr!
Trouble is anything to cover it would still need a hole big enough for the birds to get in and out so a paw will fit in... Maybe a little tunnel so the cat wont reach in? Or bird spikes on to so it can't sit on it

I know it sounds silly but I really love cats, OH illergic, so don't want to hurt the cats.
I was thinking maybe a cage of some sort out of wire mesh???? What do you think?? I'll put him to work. There are 2 different cats, I only posted one. I'm really pissed off lol

Hmm you could get something soft and spiky so they wont get hurt but can't sit on it...
Not fair to hurt the cats, just need to stop them sitting on the box!

Something spikey would do. He can't sit there then. I wouldn't want to hurt one, but I hate cats. Grrrr

I have an idea
Buy 2 of those large paddle hair brushes with rubber spikes and remove the rubber secion from each brush then pin them to the top of the bird box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Head-Jog-3...item461c28c62f Like these but from some £ shop! |

Carpet gripper rods cut into strips then stuck on works a treat

the cat will not be able to access the nest box but will have a try,any intervention on your part now will probably result in the birds abandoning the nest box.

True. May be best to wait until the birds have fledged? x
