one of my hermanns eggs hatched out overnight! i was so excited, got the table ready and put him in after a few hours in the incubator.he did a few laps then he must have buried himself in the soil mix and i havent seen him since! should i be worried? ive never had one do this before and i dont know whether to try to find him or just leave him to it!

Just double check that your temps aren't too high or the lighting too strong. I would maybe find him just to make sure he's ok as he will need regular baths anyway. Also make sure there are lots of sheltered areas for the little guy. Hatchlings can lose water quite easily which is maybe why he's chosen to dig down.

One of my Marginated hatchlings hatched a good 6/7 days before the rest of her clutch & she did this. every afternoon she would dig down & dissapear for the night - reappear next morning when her light came on. She stopped as soon as she had some siblings & I also brought them a small snake hide with a low opening, as this seemed to make them feel safer.
