oooo thank u linda , i was actually thinking of layering it, actually like a bunk bed. that pic is a good idea but i am unsure how old lilacgeorge house is nor how stronge her walls of her alcove is so i don't really wanna resort to adding anything into the walls incase it does any damage.

ok will await ur pm

House was built in 1885!!! Walls aren't that good (I don't thinkl)

What I was thinking of was possibly having er, wots the technical name... the things that drawers slide into.. So that when the tables aren't in use, they could be removed?? The brackets/sliders (whatever they're called...) could stay attached to the walls. Which means that I could still uterlise the space when the torts are out in the garden. Or something simular....

LOL! You are soooo gonna regret your offer!!!!! :P

dawn the only problem i have with brackets is that if ur house was built in 1885 then the alcove is gonna be really weak and drillign or nailing in to the wall cud cause some damage to the brick work. with the brackets u wde them permantly there even when taking out the tables but, if u have a tradiontional tort table but in a bunk style then u wud still beable to completey remove them from the space.

also if u have brackets in the alcove then thats the hotest part of the room and even hotter with heat lamps on so with in a few years the brsckets but most liekly be no good.

I recently saw a ladys tort tables and they where exactly like bunk beds, looked really good. Basicly 4 posts. Table at the top and one at the bottom raised off the floor a few inches. There was a very decent size space between the 2 tables and she used clamp lamps I think attatched to the sides so no need to hang bottom tables lights from the one above. Hope I explained this properly.
It looked like a piece of furniture and looked great.

i have had a good idea about how to do the lighting and such....please cud i know what actual electric equpment is needed fro this type of tort as then i can add to the design.

i am thinking of having the bottom legs actually inside the bottom table. shud make more sense in a drawing.....as i can't see anyother way of making the top table better structured with out having the legs on the inside of the table as there will be less gravitaional force acting upon the top table.
