My lot have tested it but spat it back out when they realised it wasn't food.

So here's for my next question

Who uses it and what brand do they use?

And like Taszia asks, what is the finest/less stringiest version is there?

Thanks again

I never noticed stringy poop lol and I used it from 2007 - 2010 thinking of going back to the stuff once we get our new car.

What do they eat their food from?

I've just bought this (20mins ago).
Currently on offer in pets at home, 2x 9L blocks for £5 (£2.79 each usually).

But whilst in there, they also had a big bag of "Tortoise soil", I didnt get any, but wonder of that any good?!

yes I have tried this in the past, only moved to top soil as it was cheaper (needed 2 blocks for my 4foot table) and will be getting a 6 foot table soon, where I plan to have good deep substrate (sides in current table are not high enough for much more than an inch or 2 deep...) So would worry it would cost me an arm an a leg! where top soil is a bit more reasonable, and with a dog and what is a dusty flat anyway the dustyness does not bother me, or the tortoises.

Would be far too expensive for the shed and table i have, I spend alot of money already on topsoil, as the shed takes 5-6 x 35L bags at a time (and ive just cleaned it out this weekend ready for a fresh lot to be put in for the girls when they are out of hibernation), and the table takes about 2 bags, i just mix a bit of fresh soil in with the very dry now and again (and i spray the table once maybe twice a day as well) I use to use aspen and tortoise life but changed to soil because of the quantities i need. Maybe can use the coco-coir in the bedding area, might give it a try x
