Hibernation - Jerry's finally in.
I finally put Jerry in his fridge yesterday.
I timed his wind down so that we'd get the family Christmas dinner out of the way, before his fridge was brought in from the garage on boxing day...Thus giving it a week to stabilise. It was still on the same setting from last year, which proved to be spot on with the same set up. I feel a lot more chilled out about it this year (now that he's all of 79g!!)...Going to miss the little fella' though. Aiming for 8 to 10 weeks.

Good luck Keith. Just think how warm it might be in 8 weeks, certainly much lighter.
It is so strange to see them fast asleep and feel so cold. I've coped much better this year and a bit more relaxed - although my husband wouldn't agree! I spend my time looking for any signs of rats, but all good so far in Fort Tort.

He seems to have settled down OK.
Rats are probably my biggest fear with Torts, but I'm sure all will be fine with yours snuggled up in the "Fort" and your vigilance, Jan.

thanks Keith, sounds ideal. I just think brrrr but its so good for torts to recharge.
I am aiming for your set up for my little margies next year. Will try and find your post and pictures again but perhaps when spring comes you can re post them as it is and as it evolves. I am excited with my planting but Ive done most of it in pots. CB

Having the plants in pots will give you a greater element of control, I reckon. I'm amazed how much greenery there still is in Jerry's outdoor enclosure at the moment. This frost ought to finish it off soon though.
