How long do you have the light on for? It should be 12 hours and mimic day light hours. I have a timer that's approx 7-7, give or take a few minutes x

Ah!
Well its normaly on from about 9 till 9 I didnt even think about it like that.. feel kinda bad about it now Well im normaly up at about 7ish in the morning so ill keep it on from then till 7pm I hope ive not done him any dmg =[ Im going to take him to the vet just to get him checked up incase of worms and such. He a wee champ just want him to be happy : D |

I use a timer for mine so if I'm having a lie in or out in the evening he still has routine. I don't think extra light will cause damage, in the wild they'll have long and short days. Wormcount.com will be cheaper than a worm test in the vets. I had the results back about 5 days after ordering the kit. Great service. x

Aha well my gf has a 15 year old red ear slider terrapin so the vets well known to me
plus getting a full little check up on him is the plan tbh. Hes so amazing! Just on a off topic have you got any tips on telling teh sex, im sure hes/she is still to young but id like to know if my little sandor is a sandy instead XD! |

Hiya, post a plastron (underside) picture of your tort in the Identification/sexing thread on this forum and we will have a go at sexing, how big is he/she? Males have much longer tails than females x

Ill pop a picture there later, ill also put ono of him sittin on my hand so you can see his size, id she hes about the size of a bar of soap haha xD
I was told if he tucks it in hes male and if he sticks it out shes a she xD but he does both atm just thinkin about him tuckin in his wee tail makes me chuckle xD Thanks for the help guys |
