weed mix and photos
What weed seed mix do people recommend and does anyone have photos of planting them and them grown as mines dont really look good, very spindly and all of the same kind although meant to be a mix..........im rubbish at this gardening

It's a bit of a cheat maybe, but I much prefer buying the plants as little plugs and growing them on. It's a bit more expensive than growing from seeds but for £5 you can get 5 viable plants of almost any species you want.
In my experience the tortoise seed mixes have huge amounts of clover and dandelions in them. Both plants are very common in gardens anyway and not even all that great as tortoise foods. I suggest Claire buys 5 cat's ear plugs, plants them somewhere sunny and waters them on dry days. As far as this year goes, there will not be much food to be had but by next year the plants will be large and producing lots of flowerheads which will mean more plants the following years.

Lol well my tip would be this Autumn sow seeds in a poor soil area, or anywhere in your garden, and leave for the Winter. This does work.
I still have enough weeds to keep my six going for another month. I do grow some in areas my tortoises are not. Otherwise they would go in a month:0) Just started feeding lavvy flowers, hibiscus flowers will be next:0)
