New Horsfield Tortoise
Hi,
I am getting a Horsfield Tortoise for my girlfriend for christmas. She knows a lot more about them than me but I need to get everything taht would be needed and look after it for a couple of weeks. Can anyone give advice on what I need to buy? Also some of the tortoise's are babies so what else would this entail? Thanks |

Hi and welcome. You will need some sort of housing either a tortoise table or vivarium some people use rabbit cages for small tortoises with a basking area set up and a uv light there are lots of options with this so if you have a look on the site it will give you some options. You might want a timer so they can come on and go off on there own. They need to be on about 12 hours a day You need substrate like screened topsoil somewhere for them to hide like a plant pot and maybe some stones. You will need some food for him which there are lots of topics on here a water dish, nice and shallow if a baby. Think that's about it covered lol
