Would a "Mat stat" work?

Hi could I use a Thermostat designed to control temps of a heat mat ( I think they cover up to 100watts) to control a small 1ft tubular heater (approx. 45 watts) in a small kennel?

A lot of the stats can switch up to 600 watts, if you do a quick check on google it should confirm the max wattage
