Adult female Horsfield

HI, I live in the Cornwall area & am looking for 1 or more adult female Horsfields, I am willing to travel for the right girls! I have two boys at the mo & they have made me fall in love with this particular type of tort so am looking to enlarge our wee family.

Hi there Jay.j and welcome to shelled warriors. I think you will be hard pushed to find a couple of these beauties, they're a little like gold dust really.

I got most of mine from second hand sites like pre-loved as that's really the only place you see them as genuine tort lovers like the ones on SW rarely part with adult females that they've had for many years. The rehomes often need extra love and vet care due to poor husbandry etc, I have all mine to good health now tho and they were well worth it. I even have a blind one!!!

There is also tortoiselady on here (Tracey) who sometimes has females around 5 years + and they're very nice torts too.

Thanks for the info & and glad to hear all you rescuse are now in good health espescially your poor wee blind one.
I have two young girls living with a young boy at the the mo (my lovely boyfriend built them a new home yesterday) Also have older boy, Mr phoebe, who I'm hoping to find some girlfriends for.

Yeh it is always worth a try!!! But I would really try the second hand sites such as-

pre-loved
pets-classifieds
Slowcoach
pettortoise
RFUK
reptiletrader

I just messaged the ads 'over 21 days old' and got most of my torts for great prices, it's also rewarding making them happy again if they were not already!

Or try Tracey- she def has some 5/6/7 year old females at the mo, I got a lovely tort from her.

it took me six months to find a female horsefield,what age approx are you looking for,for your males.

Just a gentle note if you have 2 boy horsefields please put a minimim of 2 girls in with one boy. they are very violent lovers and will bite the front legs, this can cause shedding of scutes and infection if you do not split the boys attentions.
We have one boy to 5/6 girls.
