Charlie update
thought it was about time i updated everyone on Charlie's progress (it's been 10 days already = feels like i've had him forever already )
Charlie is a happy little fellow - although he suffers (or rather we suffer) terrible mood swings he gets terribly grumpy when; we don't pay him attention we bath him we put him back in his enclosure we don't put him out in the sunshine (we daren't tell him about winter ) we don't give him a pansy with his meals he gets woken up or he's tired A lot of my friends laugh when i tell them this - saying he's only a tortoise but it's very true (as i'm sure most of you will agree, they have little personalities of their very own) Charlie loves to go outside in his run - he clambers over his slate, over his soil over another slate, through his bath into the dark area where he naps all afternoon He also likes trying to climb whatever he can, when he can. In his indoor enclosure he has decided he's not keen on one of his bamboo fences so he pushed it over and prefers to sleep under it and who am i to argue Charlie is becoming more alive every minute i spend with him, he reacts to both me and my other half (looks for us when he can hear us) he loves having his chin rubbed and generally seems to enjoy being out of his enclosure & with us. He is eating, sleeping, pooing & weeing well (all ok there ) so what else could i ask for. Anyway - i thought some of you might like to know how we were getting on and there you have it! Totally Smitten he's my little treasure, let him run with no boundaries last night in our back garden while i carefully watched over him - he tottered around for a bit, had a good look round then made a mad dash for the biggest dandelion plant growing between the slabs and munched his way through it
Just got in from work and put him outside - he likes going in his pool when he's outside bless, then he goes to find a cool spot to chill out! He lets me know when he's ready to come in by walking up to the edge of his run and just staring at me ....................that's my cue to grab him and bring him (and a handfull of food) inside |
