The Badgers have arrived
The 6 badgers came today and it was very exciting, the artificial sett has been up for a couple of weeks there are 2 pipes going into a center sleep area the whole thing is covered in earth and surrounded by fencing, they will stay in there for about a month before the fencing is taken down, Simon Cowell came along with lots of other guys for the release he runs the wildlife aid center and is the one on the animal tv programme he's very nice, the badger are 6 of this years babies from a group of 13 they are all chipped, we have to feed them once a day on Nature Diet and dog biscuits and they have straw in the enclosure to take into their bed, they were really lovely and went straight down the tunnel they're very big and had to squeeze, here are a few pictures I've been promised some by the press photographer who was there so as they'll be better than mine I'll post those later, it was really nice to have been part of this sort of thing PS If anyone is interested their website is www,wildlifeaid.org.uk ( sorry don't know how to do links)

Thanks we feel so lucky I just wish I lived nearer to one of the rescue centers as they all need volunteers and I'd love to do something like that, Simon Cowell is so knowlegable about conservation etc it was a privilege to meet and talk to him, when we fed them tonight there was no sign of them but hopefully they'll come out and eat their food, all of the food gets given to the center most of it is near its sell by date , their site is well worth looking at.
