If the dog is going in for an op surely the vet will trim his hip area... Or do you want him all done so that his coat will be more or less the same length?

A couple of years ago I bought a pair of clippers out of Argos as our Molly had a hotspot on her hip. The vet shaved her whole leg, but we wanted to have her coat around the same length. We tried them in her fur and they just clogged and died, they were useless... So we took them back. They were the Wahl (is that spelt right?) type. I think they Oster ones are the best, but you won't be able to buy them from Argos, you would need to go either to a Championship dog show or buy them online.

Hey, we ended up getting the £22.99 set of Whal from Argos ... did the Sprocker perfect and his coat was fairly long, now he's all trim clean and will probably swim and dry better too !

Mac had his hair cut and a bath all ready.
I wanted him to be nice and clean for the op as he usually has a weekly bath anyway, and wanted his hair shorter so he wont have bits of fur floating near his wound.

Poor thing has no idea, but he's in so much pain I dont think he'll mind.
We're leaving in a short while

Will let you know
