Hi, could you tell me, are you heating your pond? I have 2 YBS but have not as yet built them a pond as I may have to rehome them. I only took them as a temporary measure from someone who was going to dump them

no heating in pond but hoping to build a deeper one so they can hibernate naturally

Do you know how deep it has to be? I live in the south so it doesn't often get really really cold here.

The Terrapin Tank is a good place for all your info as the weather is a bit cold here was told that pool had to be 3 ft min depth for them to stay out all the time and my pool at the moment is 2ft 6inch so got to go a bit deeper but going to settle them in first before hand then introduce them to the pond.

Hi Bindi, the web address of Terrapin Tank

http://www.terrapintank.co.uk/

The front page has lots of links, if you look down the list you will see the link for the forum.
One of the Admin's Graham is a member of SW. Its a great site dedicated to turtles/terrapins. you will get some great advice about ponds and tanks, just like you get great advice on tables and enclosures on here.

Thanks Larraine, I'm working on my other half to let me build an outside enclosure as I've got really attached to them and I don't really want to let them go.
