slate samples for sale on ebay
I have just received four little 10cm square sample slate tiles which I found on Ebay, they are quite chunky and ideal for little torts for feeding on, or put several together for a larger area, 99p each and they were postage free despite the weight, they have more on, if anyone is interested the Ebay number is: 190254008144

Can you use the slate used for roof tiles? I got one for £1 from the builders yard!

Be very careful, especially if you have bought a second hand slate, roof slates can be very very sharp. we had a loft conversion done 6 years ago, and the young apprentice was moving some roof slate, and a piece slipped and sliced into his hand and severed tendons.

thanks a lot for this post hon, i just snapped up the 2 they reposted for sale on ebay and emailed them to explain why we want them and asked them to keep the post rollin so others can keep buying, the shop owners name is marblemosaics on ebay or stonezone999 has the ones alicia found (hope its ok to post that here) but ppl will need to find them as the item numbers are gonna keep changing as they reload, and at £1.99 with free pnp is a bargain ! and its perfect for what we need.
(ps. no i dont have shares in the shops, i run my own on ebay lol .. strangely enough its goldblends goodies... look out for xmas goodies coming soon .... best wishes all Michelle

when our 200 year old barn started collapsing in wales my dad went up onto the roof to retrieve the slates but becuase it was rotten he fell through, luckily on a bit were he had already taken the slates off, i have had one slice into my finger length ways and bare the scar, i just use a nice chunky piece of slate for my tort got a few good uns last time i went to the cottage as a welsh slate quarry is not far away and they have huge spoil mounds which i dont understand, why abandon it after you have blasted it out the mountain, a plane crashed there last year too in the fog
