The person has only had him 6 months and realised they don't like tortoises :s.... I'll ask tomorrow what full story is.

You will have to see what the owner before was doing as well poor tortoise has obviousley been passed about a little hopefully you can give it a nice stable home if you choose to buy it. That's the main reason people on here comment about the commitment etc as we all get upset when people get pets and then get board of them or don't care for them properly. There are so many stories of poor animals not getting the right care. You are in a great place for advice and help I have learned loads from this site

I keep Marginated tortoises they are wonderful tortoises to keep, they are friendly and very attractive tortoises. They stay out most of the summer and are pretty hardy, if it gets cold or a prolonged wet spell I bring them in. They hibernate over the winter. I have 22 tortoises of 8 different species and though I love them all, marginated will always be my favourite

I had not taken much notice of them to be honest but have had a little look up on them they look lovely, bit big for me I would not have the room for them but look really nice tortoises Good luck to OP with there tortoise, You will Have to put pictures up so I can be jealous lol I think my redfoot Tobi and my horsfield Elvis are my favourites but don't tell the other 6 lol
