Keeping the heat in??
Hello everyone!
My torty has been a little bit inactive at the moment due to the cold weather, he spends a lot of time under his log and I think he forgets he has a nice warm basking area to sit in! (His lamp temps are 28-32 and it gets no colder than 17/18 at night) I was just thinking about getting a piece of perspex or acrylic to cover half of his enclosure in the winter months? Have any of you tried this and did it work? Thanks! |

Yes I have put a sheet of clear polycarbonate o er the colder end of the table but I think raising the temp a bit more will help, say 32-34 under the lamp and 18-20c overnight x

Did you find it made your tortoise a bit more active?
Thanks for the reply! |

using a viv or not can depend on whether your tort room is warm, if the heating is on then its fine, if not then a viv makes more sense.

Yes our heating is on, but it seems he stays under his log for so long that he gets too cold to move, our house never gets before 18 because its controlled by a thermostat.
Unfortunately we don't have the storage to have a viv and a table |
