Hi Linda this does work actually but they soon loose interest as the taste starts to take affect , but for little ones like your redfoots it should work ok not that they need worming just yet i wouldn't think

Panacur for dogs and cats is available from the net too. It's a smaller tube so cost less than horses (between £3 +£4) Each syringe graduation is 70mg so easy to measure as it's 100 mg per kilo of tort. Stick a bit of fruit on the end and squirt the paste in, much easier than messy liquids.

I think an awful lot of my torts Owen but always worm them myself. For one thing I could not afford £500 for worming (or do you think he would do discount for buklk LOL) and another is that my friend is my vet<vbg>

Well according to a study by the Royal Veterinary College a few years back once a year is OK Sharon so long as they are kept in a reasonable sized area.
Hope this helps |

Panacur only kills the worms, not the eggs, so you need to either do it in three doses, once every ten days, or a measured amount each day for ten days and then another round of the same thing to kill the eggs ten days later. If you go to the TT forum at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tortoisetrust/ click on Files in the lefthand column, and then click on the folder called Fenbendazole (that's another name for Panacur) there are charts where you can put your tort's weight in and see what the correct doseage is.
