You said it Helen !!! and you made a perfect point - yes, I think I would definitely consider registering them elsewhere. xx Celestite, as I said just now - not your fault and as Helen said - hopefully a good recovery from here on in. xx

Wasn't even me she said it to originally - it was mum. Had her in tears when she called me. Last thing she needs, she has depression and has had enough stress to last a lifetime. Thanks for the help and best wishes though. I'm still going to keep this updated as we aren't out of the woods yet ... xxxx

I am considering a written complaint....I can understand that yes, it would have been a courtesy to call the vet prior to the visit to the specialist, especially when she told me over the phone that she had ordered a different antibiotic, but there is still no way she ought to have been so nasty over the phone. It seems this vet was fresh out of training..... It might be best to let sleeping dogs lie though, I don't know, maybe just concentrate on the new vet and recovery of our pets.

Sounds like she needs putting in her place to me. There's nothing to stop her doing this to someone else if things don't go her way. I would write a complaints letter and see where it goes. If you don't get a sincere apology I would take my business elsewhere.

Hope all turns out well for your tort, I would keep a close eye in what treatment is used, rodneyvets advice was good as always.
I would complain about that vet as well, you are going through a dfficult time without listening to that judgemental attitude.

Had a call from the vet today, sadly, despite a little improvement on Saturday, we had to make the decision to have Rollie put to sleep.
The vet is now going to do a PM in his own time to try to determine exactly what happened, if there were any internal issues that triggered the secondary mouth-rot. Now it's just a case of waiting for the F10 etc to arrive and hoping that we can save the other babies and prevent anything else from spreading..... I'll let you know what the vet turns up, if anything..... xxxx |
