I have just studied him again and his nose is now dry and his nares look clear. Its just dried up in minutes.
I opened his mouth and he has a pink tongue and his breathing seems fine, but his nose was definately wet a minute ago!

Has he been drinking?
Or is this after a bath?
Both these things can produce a bubble.

i hadnt noticed whether he had just come out of his water dish. He was sitting in the entrance to his house when i noticed it. I keep studying him and theres no more liquid. If it was a runny nose, would it have dried up that quickly?

Is there something you can buy for instances like a runny nose, or is it vet treatable only?

Yes you can treat with tiacil for minor cases. I`ve always got a bottle in the house for when i need it. It`s active against bacterial rns, (active against gram neg + gram pos bacteria) and my reptile vet prescribed it for me and trust me hes one of the best reptile vets there is about and has reserached alot into it, its less invasive than baytril and does the same job. Just put 2 drops in the nares of a morning, and 2 drops of a night.
As its by prescription go to your reptile vet and explain what it does he should know by reading the bottle what its active against, it costs 7.00`ish and he should then just give it you over the desk once you`ve started to use it. I actually buy mine from the vets were i take my dogs now, it also has a long shelf life, Just remember it is an antibiotic of sorts so dont use it say once a week, only use it if your tort actually does develop rns and stop using it once its cleared up. Hope this helps, Becky x

Would you recommend keeping some warmth in at night as my house does drop quite low during the night. Its an old victorian house and we dont have the heating on throughout the night.
