I get my panacur paste in a graduated syringe, it makes it easier to sqirt out the right amount

Hi Joe,
I use panacur 2.5% or 10% for small ones. It means giving a bit more but the margin for human error is much narrower. saying that I believe the safety margin of panacur is quite wide anyway. I get my panacur from my local vet (not my tortoise vet), cost me about £4 for 5 hermans. Jason |

I have a small indian star who i wormed (pics of worm in picture section) she is 130g it was hard working out the dosage as you said its a tiny amount. So i put a small blob on some cucumber. Pancaur is very safe and if you go over a little it wont do any harm.

Use a syringe to measure the doses out much easier than straight from the tube.

Dosage rates by weight are correct. The graduations on 18.75% Equine paste indicate doasge by 100kg of Horse weight
Most pharmacies will sell you a needleless syringe with graduations of 0.10ml which you can use to measure out a more accurate dose (mine cost 20p). I am not quite as nervous about administering the exact amount, in fact I put a little bit more on their cucumber since my torts manage to smear the paste across their faces and feet Panacur is really quite safe so don't worry too much. |
