tomato plant leaves
Hey guys and girls was just wondering if tortises can eat tomato plant leaves! Just spent an age pruning it so figured there could be a use for it!!!

Im sure someone will let you know for definate but i am sure i have read that the tomato plant is toxic for torts

contains tomatine which is an alkaloid, not good for tortoises, tomatoes also contain this but in much lesser quantities I believe.

its always asking whether we can eat the various leaves, I think that as long as they are safe for us to be eaten raw then they are safe for most other animals. At the moment my adult torts are having some of the raddish leaves and I also have squash growing in the gh so they'll have a few of them, if they'll eat them, I know they like the raddish ones.
