A talk on Box Turtles
Wendy, at "Just me and my Tortoise" has asked me to do a presentation at the March 2011 meeting in Keston. Accordingly, as it seems that the North American Box Turtle group has won the hearts of many a Totoise Keeper, I have agreed to give a talk on the North American Box Turtle (Terrapene spp).
Aside an illustrated slide presentation, there will also be a live selection of different species and sub species, and I hope some input from one of the UK's most successful captive breeders of these enigmatic American Turtles: No doubt, Wendy will advertise closer to the date in March but for anybody planning a trip to the South, this may be an opportunity to book a place at what we hope is a popular meeting? |

Terrific photo as usual and this talk sounds not only fascinating but terrific to include actual specimens to be seen. I hope this is read by many so no-one misses it.
I will be advertising this in February ... in the 'events' section Thanks for being our guest speaker

Just had mail from my friend who breeds a number of species of North American Box Turtle, and she confirmed that she successfully hatched a very good number of Gulf coast Box turtles in 2010. Whilst, I cannot promise her secrets I can I think show what is possible with correct care of these lovely Turtles:
