Default 25g alligator snapping turtle in West Midlands

This has made over 10 Newspaper headlines today

An angler fishing for carp at a reservoir got the shock of his life when he landed a giant North American turtle. The 25kg alligator snapping turtle, which is around two feet long, was snared by Steve Bellion, 23, at Earlswood Lakes near Solihull, West Midlands.

Makes a change from terrapins in the ponds

I bet it was quite scary for the turtle too! She is beautiful. They eat a lot of plants you know. Its not all ducks and small children.

This is the same animal fished out last year. Indeed a splendid beast and very interesting if she is actually a female.

Is that a big size for a female Paul? As I understood it the females are considerably smaller than the males.
