However, not knowing Jonathan personally, one can't assume his other half is female!!
Well said Emma!!

Mark, she probably does and you're not listening That's often the case in our house. David AKA Gorebrush on here often says I haven't told him something

This is an update on Septimus who has produced another egg.

The previous egg has remained in the incubator since the 21st January. I'm not hopeful about that one - was laid on the surface - but you never know.

A second egg was laid in a prepared hole a few days ago and I was able to dig this up and put it in the incubator right away. So even if this egg turns out to be infertile I think we are getting closer!

I have had surface eggs hatch from a first time layer, so always worth the incubating:0)
Fingers crossed for you:0)

Fingers firmly crossed that the second egg is fertile and as Sandy says, you never know with the first one either, so good luck!

Jonathan .... Ive found surface eggs has a rather good chance of being fertile.
I think it might be she cudnt find a suitable place refer humidity , substrate , heat and not unimportant calm surroundings , meaning noone keeps disstracting her. You know ....females ....when that happenes .... aaaah You allready wrote that

Thanks everyone - both eggs are being watched carefully. Any developments, I will let you know.
