a fright in the night
About 1am this morning Russ woke up, jumped out of bed and ran to the door, sounding quite panicked. I asked what was wrong and he said there was a swarm if bees in the room. I had to convince him there wasn't!! He was quite worked up about it even after realising it was not real...
Its not the first time something like this has happened, I have been woken about insects in the ceiling and even a cat in the room (we don't have a cat and he is scared of them). Each time there is nothing but sometimes takes as much as turning the light on for him to know that... It hasn't happened in ages and I think last night was the worst, he told me he genuinely thought we were both going to die! Anyone else had this sort of problem and know if there is anything to do about it? |

Erm....yikes! You must have been totally freaked out. I can't imagine suddenly being awoken by something such as that, Merle. Not what he was saying but just the sheer shock and panic. Has he talked to a doctor about it? They might suggest something in terms of relaxation techniques or adjusting his diet. Not saying its down to any of that but just wondered if there was something triggering these panic moments?
Keep a diary perhaps? xx |

Is it not just really vivid dreams? My late Father used to get out of bed saying there were Red Indians coming up the stairs - this happened regularly. He also often hit the bed and bedside cabinet saying he was being attacked and had to kill them. This all happened years after I had left home so only going on what I was told.
It seems to be more of a man thing (again!) as my ex husband occasionally would wake up saying he was fighting someone and had been hitting out. One of my sons used to sleepwalk and often talks and calls out during the night. Glad I'm tucked up on my own every night now it does have some advantages |

He could still see them after he woke up, he said they blocked the door after he got up...
He does sometimes talk in his sleep but so do I... This is something that continues for a short time after he wakes, or at least seems to |

yes my wife does that at times, thinks there's spiders and stuff crawling up the walls and gets up to try to get rid of them even after me telling her there's none. similar to sleepwalking scenarios

I'm very guilty of doing the same thing. I scream and shout most nights.
Some dreams are so vivid and I throw myself out of bed! I recently discovered that my beta-blockers cause night terrors so I blame them, but I've always been a talker in my sleep....I'm just more dramatic now!
