Default Garden snails

Does anyone know of a way to get rid of garden snails without killing them? My garden has been infested and soon there will be nothing green left! They're even munching their way through my beautiful magnolia trees I do think that snails are quite cute so I would prefer not to kill them. This evening I got my other half to take about 100 snails over to the local woods to rehome them.. Has anyone else got any ideas?

Bowls of beer work, it kills them but they die happy!

I don't know any way of deterring them, but I would be interested if anyone does because I also spend ages picking them off my plants and re-homing them! Slugs, however, aren't so lucky and get salted!

i don't know a way to get rid of them, but you can get most of them in one place to collect them by putting down some orange peel, our snails love it, & i was told that you should also try coconut. once they have congregated at the food, you can get rid of them.....good luck with evicting them!
