Hahah I know how you feel. I love the eating and drinking with friends and family at christmas but the decorations and trees irritate me. I work in a hotel, myself and one other put up decorations on Nov 26th (!), had to take them down one Saturday morning (at about 2am) right after a YFC ball as we had a wedding the following day and the bride doesn't like tinsel, and then put them back up the following morning when they left as we had Sunday lunches that afternoon. The main banqueting room holds 350 people so that's quite a lot of decorations. And then to do the same at home, not a jolly time lol.

My tree is live in a pot outside from last year so I need to bring it in soon. Decorations can stay up till January 5th Alan.

Your story is a nightmare Tenth. I remember decorating a tree at work years ago when I worked looking after old people. I knew when I was doing it, it was a waste of time. Sure enough the next day I came in and the tree was decorated differently. They knocked it over and smashed the decorations and we had to start again.

there's a tangle of wires on the floor and every morning when I have to switch it on and the PC I have to get away under the tree to reach the switches

shhhh, but I agree with you and haven't put the tree up and don't intend to this year.... The boys haven't even had advent calendars - but then again they haven't asked for them and haven't asked about the decs going up... so i may get away with it.
