HELP!!! IS MY T REX FLOOD LAMP WORKING PROPERLY?????
Could someone tell me if my t rex flood lamp is supposed to keep going off and on by itself??? I am really worried as me and my house mate got our baby hermans today, we tried the lamp out and it seemed ok but now it seems to switch off every now and then but only for about a minute then comes bac on, I hope this is normal as i don't want this to harm our babies! Thanks Jo and Holly xxx

Hi Jo, I fully understand your concearns, mine has doen this from day one, your lamp is overheating and protecting itself. My lamp was in a t-rex relfector when I first operated it which I later found should have been a bigger one, so i took it out of the shade and still it would turn itself off and on again.
I have made several calls to the company I brought the light from but just told because its still working there is nothing they can do. Out of curiosity where did yours come from? When the light works it works very well, but sometimes it can turn itself on and off every 5 minutes, and has also done it first thing in the morning too when it has just come on. So how this can be put down to overheating is a mystery. So while it is still working I just let it get on with it. Ade

I can't buy another lamp at the moment as I've spent alot of money on my babies already, I hope I can sort this out soon. There must be a fault somwhere that needs sorting out, in the meantime wot shall i do???

are you using a reflector if so you could try removing it what temps are you getting because if it is too hot you could raise the trex this might cause it to switch on and of less frequently did you by any chance use a credit card to pay for it .... they might act on your behalf have you sent the warrenty off |

What temperture is your tortoise table under the lamp, they do go off if they get to hot or if you switch them off then straight on again they wont go on straight away !!
