Yeah i thought that but the pattern on one side of his plastron has disapeared at the bootom by his tail

hi the pattern on one side of his plastorn has'nt disappeared what has happened is as he has grown you can now see a pattern appearing on his anal scutes when he was forst hatched in his original picture the scutes arent noticeable if you count how many section there are to his plastron on both pictures im sure you will see what i mean.

(OH MY GOD! CAN'T BELIEVE I'M ABOUT TO QUESTION AN EXPERT.......but here goes....)

German hatchling;

Pagani:

I have sat and counted the scutes (cos I'm bored and got nowt better to do...

) and in both photos there are 5 rows of scutes. But in the 5th row in the German photo there is a black mark in both of the 5th scutes (anal scutes) but in Pagani's photo there is only 1 black mark in 1 of the 5th scutes......

(oops you have to enlarge them to see the markings I've put on them to explain what I mean....

)
