One of those days...
Just been shopping as finally cleared the drive so I could get the car out of the garage. Parked in the pay and display and thought we'd have 3 hours as the shops would be busy. Got back to the car after about 2 and a bit to find a penalty notice! I'd put the ticket on the dashboard but it had fallen face up onto the floor presumably when I closed the car door. Its not a self adhesive one. Now got to pay the £25 (£50 if I delay) whilst I appeal.
When I got home the post had been. Got a Burtons storecard as they were doing a really good deal for new cards. I don't usually bother but as Stephen needed a suit, shoes etc I took one out. It was due on Monday. 13th only £20 as we'd bought some other bits so paid it in cash at a store on Monday and was told it would go through that evening. The bill took ages coming and what with the snow I hadn't been out, nor posted the payment as we'd not had post for a week so thought it would be easier to pay instore. Anyway they've put a late payment charge on it up until the 17th of £12. Two phone calls to be made/emails to be sent. Just waiting for the third thing to happen now.....rant over though its nearly Christmas!! |

Thanks all. I'll let you know if anyone assists me as it is "the season of goodwill"! Well my Amazon parcel has come which was sent on the 8th December so its not all bad. I'm now going to sit down, close the curtains, put the tree lights on and watch my favourite John Nettles (really liked him in Bergerac all those years ago).
Glad you got your turkey and ham Wendy! Shame we haven't a January meeting for a pie or something similar - won't keep to February's. Enjoy. |

Just an update - in case anyone is interested!
The Council said the Penalty Charge would not need to be paid as I had proof that I had bought a ticket, despite not displaying it properly. Santander Cards rang this afternoon to say that as I was wrongly informed about the time taken to clear the Burton's account they would return the fee of £12. As I had cut the card up and returned it with my letter of complaint they will now send me a cheque for £12. |
