cant believe this one
hi, Thanks for all your replys, now shes warm ive been to see where she could have been, in one corner of the enclosure there is some pampus grass growing and besides that i have found a well used hole. ive just dug it out , it seems to go down about 6inchs and then along what looks like a old mole run, this goes down to about 18inchs to a dead end which seems much wider than the tunnel.Because i dont use this pen until next month she must have been coming and going back to this tunnel for 9 months with out being noticed, and when i think how cold its been? earlier on we had snow covering the ground upto 12inches for 7 weeks . the one lesson ive lernt from this is not to put small tortoises in a 30ft by 18ft enclosure. This year any hatchlings will go in a 6ft by 3ft enclosure with buried wire underneith and wire on the top.

That's good news, how resistant are these animals, stories like this should make us more confident in keeping them.
