Default Habistat Dimming thermostat

A question about a dimming thermostat:
I set it at 30c and i have a 60 watt bulb in im really confused i thought a thermostat is to keep it at a right temperature...
Its about 33c now and i notice the thermostat light is always on... maybe im worrying about nothing but is this normal lol i even put the thermostat down to 20c to see if the light goes off but it doesnt its always on?
Is it faulty or? dont wanna cook my tortoise

Hello, I've got a twin habistat and the knobs are not working the lights are on but not regulating the temperature......faulty me thinks! Had to buy another one, but single one this time.

So I think yours is faulty too x
