Default turkey tortoise

hi i have just come bk from turkey (fethiye, calis)think its western but not sure. where we stayed with my mums friend who has a house there. She told me they had a wild tortoise living in the garden. i looked all week and on the last day i spotted it walking down the path next to the hedge all the neighbours give it left over raw fruit n veg n salad leaves. what sort of tortoise could it be it was quite big i would need to pick up with 2hands if did. it was quite timid so i went to get some lettuce leaves to let me have a closer look and he went and hid in a corner wen i came bk 2mins later. my mums friend said her and her son had spotted one crossing the road in turkey so they picked it up and took it home and put it in garden so it was safe could it be same one? she said he was small then?i took a pic but dunno how to put it on?

Hi Loz,

A pic would be best for an identification.
You need a photobucket account to do this. Then you can use the uploader to paste the link to the forum, it is quite easy if you need anymore help just holla!!
