How many years have you kept them dry at low temp? Is this a recent change - noticed any difference yet? How young were they when you got them?
I'd be interested to hear if the temps make a difference, I heard / read alot about temps playing an important role in pyramiding. I've never played around with my temps and also like to provide my reds with some humidity but we've all got our own methods and reasonings for doing things. Would love to hear some feedback on upping the temps when you get some. |

The two that I have indoors I got as hatchlings about 8 years ago... so much for the slow growth theory.
My adults I got as youngsters. The smallest was 5 inches... now 8 inches. The largest was 9 inches... now 13 inches. All those in between were about 6-7 inches... now 9 to 10 inches. For the first 7 years they were in El Cajon, CA. Inland of San Diego... very dry. The last 4 years is Villa Rica, GA. Not real dry but not humid. Those are Cherryhead RF and you can find photos of them somewhere on SW. Quote:

Interesting, as for slow growth theory, my female has been slow to grow and seems to have stopped at 10 inches, shes laying tiny eggs and having tiny hatchlings so I think some of it must be genetic. Shes always been kept at good temps.
When you have info on your temperature experiment please let me know details of temps they were kept at / for how long / changes in growth etc |
