I have a few relatives who live in the same town but I've only ever
left them with my mum and dad who fuss over them as much as I do Might sound silly but I'd want them to be happy being looked after by someone else, plus there's the safety issue. My uncle has a great big long garden but I'd need to know they wouldn't be left for a minute on their own. I always felt reassured when they were at my mum's, though when I was in Italy last year I wasn't told Cookie had manged to frighten them all by finding a bunch of left over cut down bushes to hide in and had them all looking for her for over an hour.

Just checked on Google Earth, it's miles away from where I'll be,
I'll be as far down as you can get without ending up in the sea.

Iv,e never traveled mine other than to get tootsie chipped and we took her in a wicker basket which was a Big mistake she obviously got either excited or stressed because she pooped and as she couldn,t get away from the poop went everywhere and god did it smell, she then followed it by weeing in the basket and on the vets table, so I,d make sure that they have enough space to not sit in it, can,t they go in their table or is that to big what ever you do take them in take spare newspaper , wipes and air freshener if their big torts like mine was.[/quote]
This always happens if torts can be rattled about during transportation. When transporting, always do it in as cool as position int he car as ppossible packed in hemp in the dark. This way they do not get jostled, the vibrations of the road are absorbed in the hemp and they suffer little or no stress. When transporting this way torts always arrive asleep and seem unaware that they have been on a journey at all. Hope this helps |

When I moved Sally and Henrietta from Kent to my house(200 miles) I put them in a plastic tub about double the size of them with loads of weeds/grass pulled from their garden where they had been living. Most of the time they just buried themselves under the weeds, but when I stopped for a break they even started eating some of them! Yvette
