Suppliments
Hi all,
I am about to adopt a 5 year old horsfield and am a but confused. Could someone explain the differences between nutrobol and limestone flour. Does Nutrobol contain lime stone flour? Will he require both suppliments as well as cuttlebone? Many thanks Val |

Hi Val
Nutrabol contains vitamin D3 amongst others. Limestone flour is pure calcium (I think im right in saying calcium carbonate) Cuttlefish is also pure calcium but caclium phosphate (a less absorbable form of calcium) I used to alternate nutrabal / limestone flour daily but they also always have cuttlefish around to help themselves to. (if yours arent keen on eating it try wetting it) |

Like Burnt Toast said, I think Nutrobal is more of a tort 'multi-vitamin' type concoction, whereas limestone flour is calcium. I have Horsfields and I put calcium on food 5 days a week and Nutrobal on the remaining 2 days. Every now and again I don't put anything on. I have chalk lumps and cuttlefish in their tables and enclosure, but to be honest they rarely touch either.

I have a permanent 'pot' of limestone flour in their enclosure, the put neutrobal on their food, alternating with calci-dust, also have a "budgie" calcium block.
But even with all that I'm told they're calcium deficient, so they now also on zolcal-d in their drinking water and their bath water, and also have put 2 cuttlefish in there for them. If that doesnt help, I dont know what will
