Suze your using it as a supplement. I wouldn't worry your not using it daily as a food replacement

As soon as the weeds grow they will be back on the green stuff, in the meantime mix some prealpine into the pellets so they get some fibre through the gut to

Suze you are a terrible person giving them that stuff you should be out come rain or shine on your hands and knees if need be looking for weeds you would never catch me using man made foods for all my torts

Suze, it is hard to source a varied diet in the winter. In the summer it's easy to be self-sufficient but it is harder in the winter and although there are weeds about, the variety isn't there and you're not alone in bulking them out with radicchio and romaine and a pellet feed once or twice a week. Don't feel bad for it, I do it too and my torts enjoy it.

I know you hibernate your older torts. I overwinter all of mine and I'm glad to be able to supplement through the winter. I only stick to Nutrazu as mine aren't quite so keen on Mazuri.
It'll be spring before we know it and there will be lots of weeds about again.

Do you have tree mallows?
These have large leaves even in the Winter.
Bittercress is usually abundant although not so good if you have a lot of tortoises.
And of course another staple is perennial campanula I have lots of this growing where the tortoises cant get. And is useful for feeding in the Winter.
This year I also have weeds growing in the unheated coldframes. So protecting weeds will help some grow.
