Jerry's Awake
I woke Jerry up today.
When I checked him at the weekend he looked quite dehydrated. He was due to wake up on Saturday which would've been 8 weeks but I'm glad I made the decision to get him up. He did 7 weeks and 2 days. Went in at 39.9g and came out at 38.9g. He did lose more than I'd expected on wind down so I've been keeping a close eye on him. We even had a power cut on week 3. Fortunately, it didn't last long. He's had a couple of baths and scoffed some plantain and is currently stomping around his new bigger table. Glad I made the decision to hibernate him. Looking forward to getting him back outside now...Come on spring!

Hooray - glad Jerry has successfully hibernated and is now up and about. It has dropped colder here the last few days but already the evenings are lighter - it was 6:00 here before it was really dropping dark so hopefully longer and warmer days are not far away

That's good news Keith. Really glad to hear it. When you put him in the water did he take a huge drink? I'm always relieved when I see that!

His head was submerged for ages on his first bath so I'm hoping that he's taken plenty onboard (he's had another couple of soaks as well). I did also soak his food overnight so he definitely had some hydration from that. No urates passed yet but he's got a sparkle back in his eyes.

All sounds good to me Keith. We want to see them eat of course but after getting up it's drinking that really matters in my opinion.

I agree, especially at Jerry's size. I actually bathed him at room temperature before he went in the table. Even then I didn't put him straight under the lamp. Left him in the cooler end and he gradually made his way under the lamp in his own time.

Good news, it's better to get them up if you have doubts, than to leave them, it can take a couple of days for them to start eating, but drinking is really good. It's always good to have them up and about again.
