This is my little stink pot musk ickle mo, He is currently a hatching living 15 litre I am getting a bigger tank already off eBay it should be here Thursday, kinda unsure about gravel though seen alot of scary pictures of x-rays of gravel filled turtles.
I also seem to be having trouble feeding Mo just doesnt seem interested in pellets, mo will eat one but I rather feel its a last resort and doesnt eat much at all.
Guess just me being worried because I have never had a weird pet before I normally have normal pets.

We have several Musk turtles including some hatchlings.

I can't really tell from the picture his/her size, but how deep is the water. Young Musks really do not cope that well with deep water, and need (as do adults) lots of resting places.

What are you feeding at the moment? Hikari sinking pellets are good as of course Musks are bottom feeders.

Gravel is a definite no. They can unintentionally eat it. All our indoor tanks are bare bottomed as they are easier to keep clean. What size tank are you getting and which filter do you have? We use the Eheim 2213s and 2215s. Amazon (although often going out of stock) have them at the best price of £30 ish, about half that of anywhere else.

You can also try him on frozen bloodworms and tiny pieces of prawns or fish etc

Sometimes you don't think they are eating enough but they do, he will soon start begging for food when you come near the tank

What are the tank dimensions as that doesn't seem very large - a 2 (2'6")'x1'x1' tank perhaps?

I don't know anything about the filter you are getting, except that it is an internal one. It might not be "up to the job", an external filter really is recommended.

Yes I agree with Clare, I have externals on all my tanks, but hatchlings can be abit small for externals, you will also need a bigger tank for external filters. Is the stingray the filter that sits on the bottom of the tank ? might not be up to the job for turtles.
