Not unlike, very clever idea it was..it was a little suction tube attached to the tort under a sterile dressing, and there it stayed...for ages...

It was supposed to half the healing time of shell injuries, which can take up to a year (i think) ordinarily

Vacuum assisted closure (or something similar).

The indoor pond is 1m x 1m x 1m - Stephen built a very strong frame and then lined it with damp proof course polythene and then filled it with water. He then built a filter (same as the one for the outdoor pond) and then added the turtles - sounds like a recipe! Considering he is only 16 - I was very impressed with his woodwork/carpentry skills. We ran his plans by a carpenter I happened to meet, whilst doing someone's garden, and he lent Stephen his old power drill.

The turtles love it. They've got a basking area and are all set for the winter now.

Hope to see you again Bindi, probably at the December meeting!

Ahhh that was it, thanks Clare

I'm also looking forward to reading Mark's paper about cloacal absorbtion, when he finishes it..

Don't think I'll be able to make the Dec meeting Clare, but hopefully get to see you in the spring. It's great that Stephen went yesterday,he was really helpful, as of course were you

see, there's always something to do at these meetings, and having you both there to help out makes all the difference
