What is this???
Hi,
Does anyone know what this could be? It's a slight dark redish patch above Colin's right eye? Don't think the photos shows it too well, but does anyone know?? I've searched and searched the internet but can't find anything out. Thanks

Thanks Linda, I've taken another couple of photos, hope these are better:
The area isn't swollen and I can't see any cut, it's discoloured just around the edge of the scales.

I can still hardly see it on my little screen. when you upload a pic to Tinypic.com either leave the 'resize' settings at default or set it to 17" in the drop-down options list. not that I would know what it was anyway other than maybe he has scraped against something or is shedding skin and it has come off before it is due to come off.. or has he been eating a strawberry or tomato?

Oh no! Would this be a bruise or blood
He's never ever damaged himself before so I don't know the difference - if any.

looks like he has quite a build up of old scales on his head though.........do you ever mist his head? as that can help them to supple up and drop off more frequently I find.

I think I klow what you mean...the rather tough looking ones in the center. No I haven't been misting his head but I have recently been dripping water on to his head in the bath, I'll carry on doing this if it softens them up, wow I learn something new everyday, thanks Dawn

I have zoomed in kristy and it doesn't look like anything much at all to be worried about, just keep an eye on it. it's not just brown from a terracotta pot? mine get marks on their shell from scraping against their pots

Thanks Alan, his terracotta pots are outside and due to bad weather he's not been out for a while, I did rinse the area, and some has gone away so I would presume it's dried blood and a bruise. I feel so bad I have no idea what he's done unless he's been climbing over his rock in his inside enclosure and hurt himself, be he's usually ok with it and can get up and down....unles he's slipped
