Hello to everyone
Hi
My name's Dimitri and I am the proud new owner of a 2 year old Hermann called 'Takis'. I am reading as much on the subject of keeping a healthy tortoise in a table enviroment, feeding him the correct varied diet and trying my utmost to supply him with the correct enviromental conditions he needs. I have to say it seems a lot more complicated than I thought but the rewards of owning a happy little tortoise are great. I look forward to uploading some images soon and receiving some comments on his behalf. My first observation is that he reminds me of a Fiat 500 when 'parked' in his log !! Would a number plate sticker be wrong thx in advance D |

Hello and welcome I agree that tortoises require a lot more can than anyone might think! Check out this great site for feeding http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/s...19.asp?mode=az

yes, i think, a lot more complicated but also a lot more interesting than people think. I still get comments like "boring, prefer fur to stroke" etc, I have learnt to ignore ignorant people now.

a nice welcome....
thanks and hello to all, I have been studying the tortoise table for a few days now and it's somewhat overwhelming trying to identify all the flowers and weeds in my 'wild' garden. I have decided to purchase a bag of seeds to grow my own little tortoise larder as soon as possible. Thanks to the shelledwarrior shop for that. Never been a member of a forum so I am working out how to upload a photo or two of little 'Takis'. I have to admit my fiancee decided we needed a tortoise and I have fallen instantly in love.....with both her and Takis of course my sister is off to the Seychelles on Sunday and so I will have some pictures of the giant cousins from there soon. These really are the size of a Fiat I'm told.
