Oh thanks yes I've been told to warm water salt mouth washes for a few days, I've just taken some soluble paracetamol , before the numbness wares off. Am putting my feet up.

Last July i had a big hole in one of my back teeth that hurt for a while then it went away and so i cancelled the root canal treatment thinking i'll be ok.....big mistake.....it came back with a vengenance, ended up in A&E till 5am in the morning as it was excrutiating pain, swelled up my face and neck, they even gave me oral morphine which didnt touch it! took 3 weeks of very strong antibiotics, i couldnt open my jaw for 3 weeks (lost 7lbs in weight lol) the swelling went down after a week but could only open my jaw a few centemetres for 3 weeks, the dentist injected my gums 3 times before they could even touch the tooth, it was still painful when he pulled it out, i didnt care at the time i just wanted the damn thing out, lots of salty mouth wash and more antibiotics.....i ended up being off of work for 2 months because of it. I will never leave a toothache again, i never felt pain like it, so i do sympathise x

Awww thanks Emma, it did take quite a lot of wiggling and tugging, but I'm ok, I've gone to bed and letting everyone wait on me, I'm glad to get feeling back in my tongue , I hate having a numb tongue. Thanks

I took my father to have a tooth pulled a few years ago. Despite it being really loose and it having an abscess under it, it still took an awful lot of twisting and pulling to come out. My poor dad was in a lot of pain as the anaesthetic didn't take due to the abscess. The dentist actually had his knee on the chair trying to get it out. It was most unpleasant! So I can appreciate you had to have a fair bit of tugging, you poor thing.
Glad to hear everyone is waiting on you. Take it easy!
