In a different thread, David's books are recommended and in my opinion should feature as a must read for those who seek to keep Turtles of the North East USA, and try to maintain naturalistic set up's in captivity. |

This is my indoor turtle pond. It's supposed to hold 343 Gallons but I don't have it full to the top else I'd have turtles roaming the house lol
It houses a female YBS, unsexed Peninsula Cooter and a male and female pair of False Maps. It's filtered with a Hozelock aquaforce 4000 solids pump and a Hozelock Bioforce 5500 pressurised filter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLP6RwQHbn8 Last edited by _simon_; 08-11-2011 at 01:56 PM. |

Finished setup for mud turtles, hope this will do until I get indoor pond with more land area for them. Please comment
Side view I also plan to run a blog about my new group, a sort of a diary what went well and what not so well... Very excited, I will get them tomorrow morning! Link to my blog in my signature.

Looks good Torterra. I would try and give them a shallower spot where they can remain in the water but stick their nostrils out to breath without having to swim. Might want to cut an end off your moss tray too, depending how big they are.

I think cutting end off moss tray is good idea. But wouldnt after that all moss go out of the tray into the water? I will make small entrance or other plan is to make a ramp into the tray. Staple some reptile carpet on the ends. Then I can put sand in it as well.
